A Present with a Future
As an alternative to giving a gift directly to a teacher/staff member, the Foundation invites families to make a contribution honoring a staff member who has played an important role in their students' lives.
This year, why not consider A Present with a Future? A program of the Foundation for Eden Prairie Schools, a Present with a Future will allow you to honor someone special to your child while at the same time to make a donation to the Foundation and to your child's school. It works like this:
- Your family makes a tax-deductible gift in honor of a staff member.
- The staff member is notified of your gift with a card (the amount will remain confidential).
Your child's school will receive 50% of the donated amount to be used for student enrichment, while the remainder will stay with the Foundation to help fund grants.
Donors receive a letter acknowledging their contributions. Because the Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization, contributions are tax deductible.
Honored staff members receive a letter telling them they have been recognized and naming the student who honored them. Half of the contribution is sent to the honoree's school to be used in programs that promote student learning; half remains with the Foundation to help provide funding for grants.
