Mark your calendars! Saturday, February 25th, 2012 is the date for the next Taste of Eden Prairie. This year's Taste is shaping up to be bigger and better and more fun than ever before! 29 restaurants have signed on to serve up great food. The Silent Auction, Raffle, Heads & Tails Game, Cactus Tree, and Vikings Locker Room Tours are back again. New this year, VIP tickets for the first 50 people to sign up! FEPS helps establish Global Learning Center
FEPS is proud to have played a small role in the establishment of a Global Learning Center at EPHS! Made possible by a donation from the Stoebner Family Foundation, AVI Systems, and AVI's vendors, the center includes state-of-the-art video conferencing equipment that allows students to connect to others around the world. Congratulations to our 2011 Grant Recipients!
On January 23rd, 2012, FEPS awarded $24,950 in teacher grants to five Eden Prairie Schools for innovative new programs in the district ~ A Field Study of Insects at CMS; Leadership Coaching at EPHS; A Vision for Reading at Eden Lake; Reading A-Z for Literacy Achievement at Forest Hills, and; Focus on Learning at Prairie View. Two of the grants were paid for by generous donations from the Matheson Endowment and ADC Foundation. A majority of the funding for the grants comes from funds raised at the Taste of Eden Prairie. Congratulations to Matt Hardy & Kris Hammer
FEPS would like to congratulate Matt Hardy, teacher at Cedar Ridge Elementary, and Kris Hammer, teacher at Oak Point Elementary, for being named TIES 2011 Exceptional Teachers of the Year. Matt & Kris were were among 83 educators honored at this year's TIES Education Technology Conference on Dec 13, 2011. Created in 1967 to provide technology and information resources to school administrators, educators and students, TIES is a joint powers cooperative owned by 46 Minnesota school districts. The Exceptional Teacher award recognizes teachers in TIES member districts who model best practices in their classroom and engaging students in learning. [read more here]
