5K for EP Schools

The next 5K for EP Schools will be held on:

Saturday, Sept. 26th, 2015

This event includes a 5K for competitive runners and non-competitive runners and walkers as well as a 1-Mile Family Fun Run. In past years the start time has been 8:30am for the 5K and 9:30am for the 1-Mile Fun Run.

The 5K and 1-Mile are held at EPHS Aerie Stadium. The 5K starts in Aerie Stadium, goes around Round Lake and ends back at Aerie Stadium. The 1-Mile Fun Run is held entirely within Aerie Stadium.

Race packets including a race tee are included in the registration fee. Local restaurants such as Wildfire and Kona Grill provide post-race food and beverages.

Registration will begin in July/August 2015. Watch for notices on this website, on Facebook and Twitter, and via email.

The 5K for EP Schools is a US Track & Field Certified race route that begins at the Eden Prairie High School (EPHS) Aerie Stadium, travels through Round Lake Park and ends with a victorious finish in the stadium. A one-mile Family Fun Run is also held in Aerie Stadium.

Parents, students, alumni, faculty, staff & community members are invited to participate.

For competitive runners, the time clock records times and prizes are awarded to the top finishers in various age groups.

Non-competitive participants can run or walk the course.  As the founder of the original Alma Mater Trotter, Deb Karulf, says, "If you walk, run, roll or stroll, then this is the race for you!".

Prizes, donated from generous local sponsors, are awarded to registered race participants. Many great prizes are awarded each year and, as a special Thank You, each 5K participant receives an amazing gift bag.

Eden Prairie Schools WellnessThe inaugural Alma Mater Trotter was held in 2009. Now an annual event, the 5K takes place the third Saturday of September. The 5K's goals are threefold: 1) Increase the visibility of FEPS in the community, 2) Encourage EP schools' families, alumni, faculty, staff and all community members to support Eden Prairie schools, and 3) Raise funds for FEPS' teacher grants.

This year's 5K for EP Schools is Saturday, September 19, 2015. It's a morning filled with fun, friends, fitness and fabulous prizes.
