5K Run for EP Schools
The 5K Run for EP Schools (formerly known as the Alma Mater Trotter) is a US Track & Field Certified race route that begins at the Eden Prairie High School (EPHS) Aerie Stadium, travels through Round Lake Park and ends with a victorious finish in the stadium. A one-mile Family Fun Run is also held in Aerie Stadium.
Parents, students, alumni, faculty, staff & community members are invited to participate.
For competitive runners, the time clock records times and prizes are awarded to the top finishers in various age groups.
Non-competitive participants can run or walk the course. As the founder of the original Alma Mater Trotter, Deb Karulf, says, "If you walk, run, roll or stroll, then this is the race for you!".
Prizes, donated from generous local sponsors, are awarded to registered race participants (competitive & non-competitive), through drawings. Many great prizes are awarded each year and, as a special Thank You, each 5K Run participant receives an amazing gift bag.
The inaugural 5K Run for EP Schools was held in 2009. Now an annual event, the 5K Run takes place the third Saturday of September. The 5K Run's goals are threefold: 1) Increase the visibility of FEPS in the community, 2) Encourage EP schools' families, alumni, faculty, staff and all community members to support Eden Prairie schools, and 3) Raise funds for FEPS' teacher grants.
The next 5K Run for EP Schools is scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2013. Save the date! It's a morning filled with fun, friends, fitness and fabulous prizes.

The 4th Annual Alma Mater Trotter was held on Sept 23, 2012. More than 200 runners & walkers participated this year. The 3rd Annual AMT was held on Sept 24, 2011. Including volunteers, students, and more than 300 runners & walkers, over 500 people were in attendance.
